2010’s: Masters Chair
History
Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitllet designed the Masters chair in 2010. Three other iconic designs were the combined inspiration for the Masters chair: Arne Jacobsen’s Series 7 Chair, Eero Saarinen’s Tulip Armchair, and Charles Eames’s Eiffel Chair.

Elements and Principles
Line is the main Element, and Movement the leading Principle of this design. The intertwined lines of the chair’s back rest and arm rests are giving the chair a dynamic feel of movement.

It is quite phenomenal how quickly the Masters chair has gained enormous popularity worldwide. It is equally popular in public seating places such as stylish cafes and restaurants, waiting rooms, and in residential dining rooms and home offices.
Replicas
Masters chair is available directly from Kartell and from most designer furniture re-sellers. In Australia they can be purchased from Space Furniture among others. Also replicas can be bought from Matt Blatt and Sokol. In China many replicas are manufactured, and they are often produced in vivid colours.
